Founding board member (1991-present) of the 1010 Development Corporation, a builder and operator of affordable housing with day care and community facilities in Downtown Los Angeles

Supporter of the Lomita Railroad Museum

Life member - South Coast Botanical Garden Foundation for many years (we think it's 15)

Bachelor's degree from USC in 1984 and master's degree from USC in public administration in 1986
Geographic Information Systems certificate from Cal State University Long Beach in 1998
Over 20 years in public service for Los Angeles County and the City of Carson as an administrator, city planner and geographer with a proven track record as a problem solver and consensus builder
Active participant in the South Bay Cities Council of Governments since 1995, leading a number of regional projects, including the award winning traffic alert system

Author of numerous articles and co-author of a new book on technology in government

Lecturer on geographic information systems at Cal State University Long Beach with presentations at several conferences

Member Municipal Management Association of Southern California since 1988 and the Urban and Regional Information Systems Association since 2000

Maintaining our streets, water system and other infrastructure

Emphasizing quality development that improves our community instead of just using what little available land we have

Economic development to make our community healthy and provide services right here in our town

Support our sheriff's deputies and fire fighters

Seeking regional solutions to regional problems such as traffic, education and pollution

Enhancing the Lomita Railroad Museum

Supporting the city's recreation programs and increasing park space

Getting local land use control back from Sacramento
